Gwen Baini, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Gwen enjoys working with individual adults and families. Regarding therapy, Gwen says, “My greatest reward as a therapist is helping clients explore ways to make the changes in their lives that will allow them to look forward to the future with hope."

My treatment goals for clients recovering from injuries are:

  • Stabilize mood such as anxiety, anger and/or depression
  • Teach pain and stress management
  • Develop coping and relaxation skills
  • Improve sleeping patterns, self-efficacy and daily activities
  • I believe that we all need someone to talk with, who will really listen and accept us as we are, without judgment. I provide clients with that warm, nonjudgmental environment that is a safe place to explore the issues that may be preventing them from returning to work and living the life they want.

Gwen earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Her background is filled with the joys and challenges of growing up in a large family.

Before coming to Bridges of Hope, Gwen worked for 15 years in non-profit organizations providing counseling services to victims of domestic violence, abuse and trauma. Gwen has facilitated therapy groups focusing on domestic violence, parenting and grief/loss. She also utilizes the modalities of EMDR to help deal with “stuck places” in trauma recovery and Biofeedback for anxiety, performance and identity issues.
